Retro Rollerskating Rookies

Last Saturday, I spent my evening with these lovely people.

Equipped with 4 wheeled skates, bunches & a humungous will to go back to the 80's, we set our skiddy feet on the roller disco scene.

Vicky (on the right) & I had been scouring the area for a roller disco for months. Literally. So as soon as she spotted this venue, we were there quicker than a lightning bolt...well nearly...

When we arrived, not long after it had opened, the place was already packed & music was in full flow.
Once we had got to grips with how to skate the old fashioned way, the games began.

Stuck in the mud & speed skating were clear favourites - although this being our first time, none of us felt up to the challenge.

If you want to go down & try it for yourself, it's not far from Milton Keynes & only costs £6 including skate hire on Saturdays.

For more details, you can find them here.

    1. Thank you! It is pretty strange at first & incredibly difficult to turn corners, but after a few circuits, it gets better haha, definitely worth having a goxx

  3. Oh this looks like so much fun! There used to be a rollerskating place near me, but they shut down and I don't know if there are any others in Sydney... I'll have a look, actually!

  6. All you need are some neon scrunchies, in true 80s fashion, and you're set to head back in a time machine to the era of disco funk.

  8. Oh wow, this looks like so much fun! I never learned to skate properly as a kid (I did practice a lot with the kind with the wheels in one line, if that's a good explanation xD). I'd love to find a place like this!
