Shelf inspiration

There is a new addition to my bedroom.
I now have my very own gloriously sleek shelf.

This now presents me with a mighty fine task - arranging my books, magazines & stuff! Being a self-confessed Pinterest addict & lover of all things design, I have created a small collection to gather ideas for my room...

These are only my absolute favourites, & they all come from my pinterest board - 'To build a home'.

Here are my absolute top 3 favourite things to put on shelves:
  • Flowers & plants
  • Piles and stacks of books, maybe even colour coded!
  • Art - with beautiful frames, or sketches even can be very pretty

  1. I love the first one, I really wish my books didn't have so random colours that sorting them that way would be impossible :P

  2. I love colour coded bookshelves! The whole 'ordered alphabetically' thing has gotten old, hasn't it? ;-) Nice blog by the way, did you design/sketch your banner yourself? It's cute!

  5. I agree, hahahaha. I love being so creative when decorating. Flowers, plants, books and art are always so pretty. I did some cute DIY stuff on my blog for a DIY calendar, pillow and more. You should check it out because maybe you'd like a DIY pillowcase to put over a small pillow for decoration on the shelf! Just an idea.

Hope you'll check it out! xx.

  18. Flowers fit perfectly with books on shelves. I'd add a collection of small things though, like stamps, old money, or even ceramic stuff, which would look cool on a bookshelf. I used to decorate my library in such way at home.
